The closing date for applications for a Ruby Cohn Travel Bursary has been extended to 15 March to provide support for those wishing to attend the society’s annual conference, Beckett and Intertextuality, which will be held in Antwerp, Belgium in May 2026.
The Samuel Beckett Society is committed to strengthening the field of Beckett Studies by supporting new scholarship from early career researchers across all geographic areas. In this spirit, and to honour an outstanding past member and scholar, we would like to invite postgraduate researchers, as well those within eight years of submitting their PhDs and who are not in permanent full-time academic employment, to apply for a Ruby Cohn Travel Bursary. Three awards of £400 will be made and are restricted to those whose papers have already been accepted by the conference committee. If you would like your proposal to be considered, please send your accepted abstract to Prof Liz Barry at this address by 15 March 2026. Please also include details of your current academic status and how you qualify for inclusion in the competition. Let us know if you will receive or be eligible for other sources of funding.
