The call for papers has just been announced for the second instalment of the Grey Pluralities Seminar series which will take place on 26 October 2025. Following on from last year’s highly successful ‘…but the clouds…’ seminar, ‘All that left me cold, or nearly’: Decoding Colding in Beckett’ aims to address the issue of coldness throughout Beckett’s canon. Once again, the event is being hosted by Eleanor Green and Swati Joshi and will be an on-line interdisciplinary event.
For this seminar, the organisers are inviting 300-word abstracts that discuss (but are not limited to) the following aspects of cold in Beckett:
- Cold atmospheres
- Cold communication patterns
- Cold bodies
- Cold ageing
- Bold and cold sexualties
- Staging Beckett’s plays in cold venues
- Cold relationships
- Cold objects
- Cold mathematical models and formulae
Please send your abstracts and a 100-words bio note by 31st August 2025 to this email:
