Festival Beckett which takes place in Roussillon en Provence each year has just announced its programme for 2024. This year’s event will be the 24th iteration and will run from 15-20 July in the town in which Beckett and Suzanne saw out the end of the Second World War. Performance highlights in this year’s programme include Conor Lovett in Gare St Lazare’s production of The End, and La Derniere Bande, directed by Jacques Osinski, with Denis Lavant as Krapp.
As the festival’s press release remarks: ‘Once again, this year, the Beckett Festival will present an eclectic and challenging programme supported by renowned artists and specialists, including fresh initiatives aimed at strengthening the festival’s wider contribution and impact in the region. Workshops will be offered in local media libraries (Apt, Bonnieux, Roussillon…) with a view to raising public awareness of the playwright’s artistic universe and life. We are also delighted to work in partnership with Le Bleuet bookshop in Banon and with the Dora Maar Cultural Centre in Ménerbes’.
