Among the many high points of the recent Samuel Beckett Society conference Beckett & Justice at Cal State LA was the engagement with Thai artist Saun Santipreecha whose current exhibition …These Things That Divide The World In Two…. at REISIG AND TAYLOR CONTEMPORARY. The show is a response by the artist to his reading of and interaction with Beckett over the years. A highlight of the conference was a public interview with Santipreecha conducted by Feargal Whelan and Katherine Weiss followed by a site visit to the gallery for attendees where the artist guided all through the exhibit.

To conclude the run of the exhibition, a once-off performance is planned for Saturday next, June 22 @ 7:30 PM, of a work entitled Mother […] Mother. Written by Santipreecha and performed by Cari Ann Souter and Luc Trahand, it is inspired by the artist’s engagement with Footfalls and is described as ‘a translational performance’ of Beckett’s piece. The event will include a discussion led by Katherine Weiss.
